Dr. Rukhsana Rizvi

Dr. Rukhsana Rizvi has exceptional credentials and is board certified in Psychiatry medicine from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a graduate of Temple University.

She was appointed Chief Resident because of her knowledge, commitment and demonstrated excellence in providing care to individuals and families during the residency program. In addition to a sound medical foundation, she has unparalleled and diverse experience in psychiatry medicine dealing with all facets of population. Dr. Rizvi has worked in CSB, in-patient, PHP/IOP, VA, residential, and group-practice settings and has served as a consultant for Disaster Psychiatry team. She brings 20+ years experience to her new practice, where she can do, what she loves the most: caring for her patients.

Her initial evaluation is thorough & comprehensive. She customizes an individualized, tailored treatment plan based on the patient and families’ needs. She is very approachable and values patients & therapist’s inputs.

She has experience in treating children, adolescent and adults alike, and takes time to get to know them. She believes in working with the family and not just the patient. She is mindful and respectful of one’s gender, sexual orientation as well as family and cultural values. She strives not only to get you better, but to bring back patients’ to their utmost functioning level.

Dr. Rizvi’s treatment approach includes combining therapy and small doses of medication to achieve the best possible result for her patients. She stays up to date on the latest research in psychiatry and uses the most current research for treatment. She has extensive experience treating ADHD, Bipolar disorders, Anxiety, Depression and OCD.

Nurse Practitioner

Saima Hashmi

Ms. Saima Hashmi is an experienced nurse practitioner serving the metro Atlanta community. Saima obtained her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from Savannah State University. Prior to this, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Adventist University of Health Sciences and another bachelor’s degree from the University of Karachi. She also holds an associate’s degree from Dalton State College. Saima is a member of the American Nurses Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. During family practice, Saima started experiencing a heavy influx of refugee population. These patients were recouping from the emotional distress of decades causing psychiatric conditions alongside physical conditions. Having worked in the discipline of neurology and participated in related research studies, Saima’s interest and focus evolved towards the specialized discipline of psychiatry. Moving to family psychiatry,

Saima treats patients of all ages. Practice includes medication management, assessing, diagnosing, prescribing and monitoring of prognosis in collaboration with psychotherapists, and other specialists.

Her full spectrum of care involves acute and chronic conditions of Depression, Mood Disorders, GENERAL Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Phobias Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Attention Deficit Disorder, (ADD/ADHD) Psychotic Disorders Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) making referrals for psychotherapy and other specialties, as necessary. Saima believes that patient and family education with an emphasis on healthy lifestyles and prevention is the most important ingredient of any treatment plan. She is efficient, decisive, and has a keen eye for detail. She is skilled at ensuring quality and keeping an open communication with her patients. She holds herself to the highest standard of care and is dedicated to creating a positive patient experience for every individual.
