ADHD

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects both children and adults. It is characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. ADHD can interfere with daily functioning and can lead to academic, social, and occupational difficulties.

The symptoms of ADHD can be classified into two categories: inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity. The symptoms of inattention include difficulty sustaining attention, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, forgetfulness, distractibility, and frequently losing things. The symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity include fidgeting, restlessness, difficulty sitting still, excessive talking, interrupting others, and difficulty waiting for one’s turn.

It is important to note that ADHD is a highly individualized condition and treatment may vary depending on the individual’s symptoms and needs. A multidisciplinary approach involving healthcare providers, educators, and family members is often necessary to optimize treatment outcomes.
